I added this pic and more to my flickr page.Oddmall was pretty great :o)
I was able to visit with a bunch of vendors I had met at the previous Oddmall events. I met some new vendors as well. I had some of my favorite indie artists set up around me and had a wonderful booth partner. The customers that came out to the show were great as well.
Tommorow I wake up bright and early to set up shop in Delaware Ohio.
The weather man reported that it's going to be a beautiful weekend.This will be my first outdoor show of the year so i'm pretty happy to hear that.

Two Events All In One Day

Hello, I'm waking up bright and early and heading to Hudson Ohio for another Oddmall.
It is a very unique show and should be really fun.
Esp. since I am sharing space with the one and only Space Dog Sarah :o)

Also my wonderful friends, the Crafty Cotillion, are hosting a really unique event.
They are showing a special screening of the popular DIY themed movie, Handmade Nation, at Studio 35.
They will also be setting up shop and showing off their own handmade goods.
I'm sorry I won't be in town for this one, but some of my stuff will be.
Thank you to my good friends, What The Rock ?!,who will be setting out some of my bags and zippies.

OLD PROJECT GIVEN NEW LIFE
My husband built me this library table a few years ago.He painted it and finished it as well. I did all of the designing, decorating and pouring of the resin.
It turned out really cool ! ! !
We had hopes that it would sell quickly so we could make more.We had a lot of fun themes planned out.
Let me tell you when your packing your vehicle for a show it fills up fast.I have only taken the aquarium table to a handful of shows and don't have room in my house.So it gets stored in the garage where no one can see and appreciate it.
I have got lots and lots of compliments on it when I have put it out for people to see.Everyone likes to touch the shiny surface.I tell them things like,"you don't have to worry about feeding them fish" or "you don't have to change the water in that aquarium".
I decided to take it out of storage for anyone to see once again.Couchfire Collective is hosting a show titled Touchy Feely.It sounded like the perfect opportunity for people to see, and touch our collaborative piece.
I hope you come out and see it before it goes back into storage ;o)

Back in October I mentioned that I had some exciting news to share.
The first part of this statement has already been revealed.That would be the December Trunk Show that i'm doing at the Columbus Museum Of Art.It's going to be AWESOME.

Next on my list of announcements is my NEW creations(pictured).
You get a sneak peek at my NEW Matryoshka Doll design.
The face is painted onto the fabric.Then I cut out the fabric for the body and attached with some fun stiches.
I think shes ADORABLE :o)

I also created a NEW line of Zippy Cosmetic bags.
There bigger than my other style of zippies, so you can put more stuff in them.
I made a mini sized Geisha Girl (pictured) and a Martyoshka Doll (pictured) to put on the front of them.
This would be a great bag to carry your essentials in as well, when you want to leave your purse at home.

I will be listing them in my Etsy shop SOON :o)

I love picking out fabrics when i'm making bags.All the different colors and patterns to choose from.
In every group of bags I create there is usually one that stands out from the rest.In the last batch of purses I created I think this Birdie Bag turned out the best.
I just love the way it turned out.
Usually I keep my favorites around for awhile.I just like to have them near by so I can look at them.When I do decide to put my favorites out,they are usually the first to go.

I've been working hard getting ready for Comfest2009.Last week I was working on my wood wall hangings.The New batch of colorful charecters turned out great.Make sure you stop by my booth and see them.
After I finished with the wall decor I moved on to a stack of zippies.I think i'm about zippered out.
My daughters b day was today so I made her a new purse with a new design.I love it and hope to post it soon.
Right now I'm working on a batch of bags :o)

Mary Moon Designs sets up shop at first ever Oddmall

This last weekend I set up shop in Hudson,Ohio for the first ever Oddmall Emporium of the Weird.
Me and Mr.Moon drove up Friday night and set up the booth when we got there.We went out for dinner afterwards,it was late when we got back so we headed off to bed.It was nice to wake up knowing all I had to do was put out a few things and touch up my display.
It did take some thought as to how to set up my booth though.We were given a 8 foot by 6 foot space.Most of the shows we do have the standard 10' by 10' space but there usually outdoor events.I went with the "lemonade stand" style set up and worked from behind the table.
The customers were great,I really enjoyed talking to them and showing them my creations.It's so nice to get out of your local scene and meet new people and introduce them to Mary Moon Designs.We had really good neighbors as well,Deb(Artistic Flair) and her sister-in-law kept us entertained.

Special thanks to Jill(Pink Sky) for taking a photo of my booth.Mr.Moon had his camera but never took it out of his pocket.At least I have one photo from the event.
The vendors of the Oddmall were mostly from northern Ohio.I met a bunch of new talented and creative artists.I was able to find some great fun gifts for my kiddies as well.
Overall I say the show was a success.Being it was the "first ever" Oddmall,it brought in a good crowd that were making purchases.I sold pretty well and met new people and artists.I had a few local friends to chat with (SDS) and had some quality time with Mr.Moon.

Next week I will be setting up shop in Whetstone for the first ever Eco Chic Craftacular hosted by Etsy Team Columbus.You need to come out and check this show out,it is going to be something special,I can't wait.

One of my two favorite things, sending mail ( the other is receiving mail) I love to send mail out to customers,I also have several pen pals.
I LOVE my mailman ( No Joke) ask my hubby! In fact,true story, today I received 3small packages in my mailbox.I had checked the mail before the hubby and I went out to lunch.When we pulled back in the driveway here comes my mailman again,he had forgotten a package.I joked with him that 3 packages weren't enough and that he had to bring me one more! So 4 packages in one day,WHOO HOO!!!! ( Now I probably won't get anything like forever!)

It was a long,long day but we had a great time at the Craftin' Outlaws show this past Saturday.We met a lot of great vendors
and customers.It was also great to see and spend some time with people we already know.My husband made the sign that was in front of BoMA and the Plinko game that was used at the event.We also helped with the set up and tear down.I worked the vender check in and brought the much needed coffee.A BIG THANK YOU to Liz for letting us be a part of the show.

The Westerville show was awesome !!!!!!! Other than some rain on Saturday.We had a very positive response to our work.We met lots of really nice people and seen some we havn't seen in years.I made the sign that is on my tent right before Comfest.I think it looks really good in front of my tent.If you look on the right side of booth,behind my chair,you can see a little bit of my "aquarium table".I made it a few years ago.I don't usually take it to shows but I wanted to show my best work since it was my first year at Westerville.I received tons of compliments on it.Time to start preparing for the next show in a week and a half.I have a ton of sewing to do to be ready.

First of all.......This is a picture of the back of my chair.My husband bought me replacement seats for my directors chair that I use at shows.He also got some fabric pieces.This was all the way back at X-mas time.He had planned on cutting out the letters and using other materials, like beads and stuff, to decorate the chair.He PLANNED.It was a nice idea that he never completed.So I did it myself.
Anyhow,I met a real nice lady at Comfest(Molly).She had me contact Kristy Eckert at the Dispatch.Kristy said my bags were "super cute… fun, funky" and took my business info.She put me in a portion of her article in todays paper.SUPER COOL!!!!

Mary Moon Designs:Snp Westerville paper

I had an interview with local newspaper reporter Bret Lienendorfer on Monday.He came to my home and took some photos of me and my artwork.His article is about the upcoming Westerville Music and Arts Festival.We are participating artist in the first Westerville Walkway ,featuring all local artist.I hope it is a huge success for all of our neighbors and we have a beautiful weekend.We really appreciate that the festival organizers (Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce) are willing to invite and embrace the working artist in the community.

The Westerville Music & Arts Festival is celebrating its 35th year.They are going to have a special area added this year for local artist.It is called the "Westerville Walkway".We are super excited that we will get to participate.Come out and see us at the show!!

I just finished a making a batch of purses.Usually I prefer to carry bright colorful ones.Out of all of the ones I made I think this one is going to be MY OWN personal bag.I like natural colors but prefer pinks blues and purples.I am very pleased with how this one turned out.Actually there wasn't a bad one in the whole batch(13).If you see me at my next show(Westerville) stop by and take a look I think you'll enjoy them.

Check the vendors out now to start making your shopping list! We were able to select a large variety of items, styles, and price ranges- something for just about everyone.
We had an overwhelming number of applications this year- I think everyone is excited about the new venue, BoMA. Our previous years we had to deal with dark cramped conditions, half indoors and half out, inclement weather, tent poles, etc. This year we have a fantastic new venue, that although we will still be filling with vendors- the layout and indoor location with great lighting should provide a much better shopping experience.

I got my first treasury on ETSY today.Yay for me!!!
I made its theme,a collection of Columbus artist.
I picked items that where purple.
I like purple and i was pretty pleased with how it looks.
It was my first time.i hope other people enjoy it as well.

I love to embellish with buttons,fabric scraps,ribbons and seed beads.
